He collaborated with other artists like Dionne Warwick, Chaka Khan, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand and Michael Jackson. His 1984 single, I Just Called to Say I Love You, was awarded the Academy Award for Best Original Song. He was awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1996.

Born on May 13, 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan as Stevland Hardway Morris, Wonder has been blind since he was a new born baby. He was raised in Detroit by his mother. When he was twenty, he married singer Syreeta Wright. They divorced after two years. He married Kai Millard Morris and separated in 2009. They divorced in 2012. They have two sons. He has seven more children from his relationships with different women including two children with Tomeeka Robyn Bracy.
